The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the number of positive reviews that Reading Hamlets received—reviews written by volunteers, donors and clients. While the Top-Rated Awards run through the end of October, Reading Hamlets was part of the inaugural group to qualify for the year.
“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2013 Nonprofit,” says Reading Hamlets Founder, Christina Ude. “We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including distributing 1,200 books to children over the course of the last two years alone. Behind that number lie the individual stories of people who now have the opportunity to understand the importance of reading and education”.
People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit, including this one from Mrs Ashanti: “ I've been a volunteer fundraiser for 10 years now and am just as impressed with this small charity as when I started. I appreciate the focus on efficient and effective use of money to maximize impact on children's education. They are small yet monitor what they do very close. Even though Reading Hamlets is a small organization, this is something I can stand behind!”
GreatNonprofits CEO, Perla Ni insists that savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations now more than ever. “People with direct experience with Reading Hamlets have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”
Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization. The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit. This award is a form of recognition by the community, based on positive online reviews.
